Weight Loss Journey is a free education site for people who want to lose weight and are tired of being confused about how. We build calculators that give you your personal numbers, write guides that explain them in plain English, and sell simple $9.99 plans for when you want everything in one place. That's the whole business.
Why this site exists
Search "how to lose weight" and you'll get 700 million results: detox teas, 30-day shreds, carnivore evangelists, and now a wave of misinformation about weight loss injections. Most of it is selling something. Almost none of it starts where weight loss actually starts — with understanding your own body's numbers.
Here's what we believe:
- Weight loss is simpler than the industry wants it to be. Eat slightly less than you burn, get enough protein, lift something a couple of times a week, repeat. The hard part isn't the science — it's the consistency. We help with both.
- A journey has stages, and they all deserve help. Day one matters. But so does week six, when the scale stops moving and every other site has nothing to say except "try harder". Plateaus, restarts, medication, maintenance — we cover the whole road.
- GLP-1 medications deserve honest education, not hype or judgment. Millions of people are now on Mounjaro, Ozempic or Wegovy. What almost nobody tells them is how to eat well on it, how to protect their muscle, and how to build habits that outlast the prescription. We do — and we don't sell the medications, so we have no reason to spin.
- Nobody should be shamed into health. If you're here, you've probably tried before. That's not failure — that's experience. We write for real people with jobs, kids and Friday nights, not fitness models.
What we will never do
No supplements. No "fat burner" affiliate links. No selling or prescribing medication. No before/after photos designed to make you feel bad. No $200/month coaching upsells hiding behind a free calculator.
We make money one way: simple, one-off $9.99 digital guides. If you never buy one, everything else here is still free and still complete.
Who's behind it
Ricky Valentine — [2–3 sentences: who they are, their relevant experience/credentials, and — important for this site — their own relationship with this subject. First-hand experience is an E-E-A-T signal; if there's a personal weight-loss story, one honest sentence of it belongs here.]

How we work
Every article follows our editorial policy: claims are cited to real sources (the NHS, the CDC, peer-reviewed research), pages show their author and their last-updated date, and when the evidence is thin we say so. When we get something wrong, we correct it and note the correction.
